UPDATE:  I think I found the original source of this amazing gif Pepe Brings the Memes

Unless you have been living out on a lily pad in a swamp somewhere, you are well aware that the Pepe the Frog meme has been sweeping the internets, goodness gracious, like a great ball of fire.

Pepe the Frog memes were inspired by the excellent artwork of Matt Furie via his comic Boy's Club.

In this post, I am going to bring you what I believe are the best of the best Pepe the Frog memes I could find across the vast expanse of the internets.  I didn't make any of these myself.  All credit goes to the great unsung geniuses of the internets who create these masterpieces so that we may pass them on and all share them with each other.

Pepe theFrog and Wojak from the "feels" meme (hugging)

Pepe the Frog memes often feature a character known as "Wojak."

Pepe the Capitalist Frog

Wojak is named after the handle used by the first person to ever start a "feels" thread on an internet chat board.

The fellow who used the Wojak handle frequently lamented the fact he had no girlfriend or "no gf" during these "feels" threads.

(via the internets)  I don't know if this info is 1000% accurate, but it might help to clarify some of the confusion regarding WOJAK and PEPE memes

Although Pepe famously uttered the phrase "feels good man" in Boy's Club, he is most often portrayed as being sad, angry, or smug.

And that shall end this special emergency episode of the Jimmy Fungus Memecasting Network.

I hope you all enjoyed these memes as much as I did.

Once again, thank you and please remember to support your local zoo.

Stay classy, Chicago!

  1. I've seen a lot of dank pepes in my time. I think it's pretty much become one of those things the internet does to death, but there are still some good ones out there. I didn't know that feels guy was called Wojak and that was why. That just adds a whole level of sadness.

    1. Yeah, I always called him the "feels"guy, but doing the research for this "article" I stumbled upon the truth... and, I agree, it indeed does add yet another layer of melancholia to it all.

  2. I don't believe frog poo looks anything like human poo, so the poo-poo meme left me baffled. However, this Pepe character reminds me of a 37-year-old woman who told me she was engaged to a man who reminded her of a frog when she first met him. Do you admire her for marrying a man who gave her such a first impression?

    1. I heard that Joan Baez said Bob Dylan reminded her of a frog. To answer your question, it depends. If she was marrying him because he was a beautiful person on the inside, then yes. If she was marrying him because he was super wealthy or something like that, then not really.

    2. I didn't ask her how wealthy he was, but I'd be surprised if he was more than middle income. I have an inkling of a suspicion that he was a funny guy, but I can't be sure. I now greatly regret not asking more questions about him. She was both very good looking and very well educated, BTW.

    3. Ahhh. Well, if you ever get an opportunity to ask follow-up questions it would make interesting subject matter for one of your blog posts...

  3. I haven't gotten too involved in memery before. That was my first explanation of Wojak and Pepe. Now I think I need a hug :(

  4. Omg I've NEVER heard of Pepe the Frog. What does this mean for me? Am I getting OLD??? Eep!!!!!

Lol at the one with the girl all like "who is that guy?"

    1. You mean Glamour or Cosmopolitan haven't done any stories on Pepe???

    2. No, not yet. Maybe I'll send them a tweet linking your page so they can be informed!!!

    3. Ironically I was coming up with a plan at work to keep tweeting Ben Afleck until I pester him into helping me become famous. Only I don't think Ben Afleck has a twitter even... :/

    4. Ben Afleck? I think you should hit up the Hemsworth brothers and send one of them over this way. I'll take either one. :)
